daily rock reading
Weird little habit/exercise I have. Whenever I'm walking across my campus after school lets out, I always find myself kicking the little chunks of asphalt that lay around. I try to find something symbolic about how I kick them, or the rocks themselves. Today I was kicking one, and got it to the edge of the blacktop and field. I was going to step on and push it into the ground with the bottom. I couldn't see the bottom, and I thought the top looked sharper, so I flipped it over with my foot. It turned out the side that was on the bottom first was far sharper than the side I had flipped to face down. I ended up wasting my time flipping it over twice. I mulled this over while walking the rest of the way to the back of my school. I came to several different possible ideas this symbolizes. I think everyone should find their own. (Just for the record, I found a political, philosophical, emotional, and spiritual meaning. How many can you find? Wow. That sounded so "I Spy" -ish, it's pathetic.) Look for your meaning.
